Childcare Resource Library
The Childcare Resource library located at the offices of County Limerick Childcare Committee contains over 1000 publications on a wide range of early years care and education topics, such as parenting, play, child development, setting-up and managing a childcare service, government publications ...
The publications are arranged by topic/subject area. The Library Search Facility on this website allows the user to search for a publication, by topic, author and/or title.
Library membership is open to the public and is free of charge. To become a member an application form must be completed and lodged with County Limerick Childcare Committee.
A maximum of 3 publications can be borrowed at any one time for a period of 2 week.
Newsletters and Magazines
The library also keeps a collection of magazines and newsletters from the National Voluntray Childcare Organisations and other Childcare Committees. These are also available for loan.
Free Literature
County Limerick Childcare Committee hold a range of literature and catalogues are available to the public free of charge. These are stored in the entrance hall of the office and in the display units immediately inside the reception door.
Hands Around the World
Hands Around the World is a collection of multi-cultural books for children focusing on themes of equality and diversity. The collection holds a number of story books and folk tales in 18 different dual language formats (English and other) Hands Around the World is a joint initiative between Limerick County Library and County Limerick Childcare Committee with the aim of building cultural awareness and fostering global respect.
The main collection of dual language books will be housed in Dooradoyle library with a representative selection in branch libraries in Newcastle West, Adare, Abbeyfeale and Foynes. All items in this collection are available for loan. A full listing of resources is available at all library branches.
